What is creative arts therapy?

Creative Arts Therapy is a way to explore mental health and wellbeing through active art making with different materials. In a session, you may use drawing, painting, clay, your body or musical instruments. Creative Arts Therapy is a way for you to express in art that which might not be easily expressed in words.

Creative Arts Therapy supports the understanding of behaviours that may arise with life’s problems. It is designed to help with the growth and improvement of the overall quality of life and may involve the exploration of emotions and personal issues. It is during sessions that you are supported through the art making process to develop how you may want to be in light of these issues.

Everything that is explored is self-driven and you may share as much or as little as you choose. The purpose of these sessions is to inquire into what concerns you. This is done while using art processes to develop your potential through the exploration and understanding of your values.
